Terms of service

These terms are between Blockwalk and the person or business that signs up to sell websites (the seller). They cover how the service works, what it costs and what each side can expect.

What Blockwalk is

  • Blockwalk is software that helps you find local businesses, build each one a one-page website, send the owner a link and bill the owner for it. We host the sites and take payments through Stripe.
  • You sell on your own behalf as an independent business. You are not our employee or agent, and you cannot sign anything or make promises in our name.

Signing up

  • You must be at least 18 and able to enter a contract, and the information you give us must be true and kept up to date.
  • To receive payments you open a Stripe connected account and accept Stripe's terms. Stripe may ask for ID and bank details, and its decisions on your account are its own.
  • One account per person unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Your plan and the free week

  • You pick a plan and add a card on Stripe's checkout page. The first 7 days after the card is on file are free and the card is not charged during them.
  • On day 8 your card is charged for the plan you picked, then every month on the same date until you cancel. Cancel online from Manage plan in your account before day 8 and you are not charged.
  • Basic is $39.99 a month: up to 3 live client sites, the classic templates and AI edits. Pro is $89.99 a month: unlimited live client sites and the Signature templates. Priority support is coming once the support inbox opens. Taxes are extra where they apply, and the price is shown before you pay.
  • If a charge fails, you keep your plan while Stripe retries the card. If the retries run out, or you cancel, you lose the lead finder and editing tools, but the sites you already sold stay online.

Selling to businesses

  • Preview sites stay up for 7 days unless the business buys, and they are hidden from search engines.
  • Businesses pay through a Stripe checkout link created by Blockwalk. Stripe's card fee comes off first. Of what is left, you receive 90% and Blockwalk keeps 10%. Payouts reach your bank on Stripe's schedule.
  • Lead data comes from third parties such as OpenStreetMap and Google Places and is often incomplete or out of date. Check before you call. Details from Google are shown with Google's attribution and may not be copied or resold.
  • You are responsible for the taxes on your income. Do not bill a business outside Blockwalk for its Blockwalk-hosted site.

Content and acceptable use

  • Do not use Blockwalk to break the law, build sites for illegal businesses, scrape or resell lead data, get around plan or security limits, or upload malware.
  • Do not put claims on a site that the business cannot back up, such as awards, years in business or prices it has not given you.
  • We may remove content or suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Limits

  • The service is provided as it is. We work to keep it running but cannot promise it will never be interrupted or that every site will sell.
  • To the extent the law allows, our liability to you is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the problem.

Changes and questions

  • We may update these terms and will say so on this page. Questions about them can go to the contact address on our privacy page.
